“Where Your Story Becomes Your Strength”
Dr. Margo Hickman is a dynamic Theatre Educator, Life Coach, Christian Comedienne, Motivational Speaker, and Drama Therapist whose work is rooted in transformation, healing, and empowerment through storytelling.
With a deep passion for helping women and youth discover their voice, Dr. Hickman has dedicated her career to creating safe, creative spaces where individuals can explore their experiences, build confidence, and step into their purpose. Through her signature blend of theatre education, life coaching principles, and drama therapy techniques, she guides participants in reclaiming their voice, rewriting their story, and stepping boldly into their power.
As a Theatre Educator, she believes performance is more than expression—it is preparation for life. She uses theatre as a tool to develop communication, leadership, emotional intelligence, and self-awareness.
In her work as a Drama Therapist, she facilitates guided creative processes that allow individuals to process emotions, heal from life experiences, and reframe personal narratives in empowering ways.
Dr. Hickman’s role as a Life Coach centers on helping clients gain clarity, set meaningful goals, and break through limiting beliefs. Her coaching is both compassionate and direct, encouraging personal accountability while nurturing growth and resilience.
As a Christian Comedienne and Motivational Speaker, she brings a unique voice that blends humor, faith, and truth-telling. Through storytelling and comedic insight, she connects deeply with audiences, offering both inspiration and real-life encouragement grounded in faith and authenticity.
At the heart of all her work is a commitment to transformation. Dr. Margo Hickman believes every individual carries a powerful story—and when that story is expressed, honored, and reimagined, it becomes a source of strength and purpose.
Through Margo Hickman Productions, she continues to build a legacy of healing through expression, empowering individuals to move from silence to confidence, from pain to purpose, and from potential to impact.
There are moments in life that strip everything down to what truly matters. For me, that moment came with a cancer diagnosis—an experience that challenged not only my body, but my identity, my faith, and my sense of purpose.
In the midst of treatment and uncertainty, I learned very quickly that healing is not only physical. It is emotional. It is spiritual. It is deeply personal. There were days when fear felt louder than faith, and silence felt heavier than words.
It was during this season that I returned to what had always given my life meaning—theatre and therapy through expression.
Theatre became more than my profession. It became my lifeline.
Through storytelling, I found a way to give language to emotions I could not always say out loud. Through role exploration and creative expression, I was able to step outside of my pain long enough to understand it, process it, and release parts of it. Theatre allowed me to externalize what felt internal and overwhelming, turning my experience into something I could witness rather than be consumed by.
Therapy, in its many forms, helped me learn that healing is not linear. It taught me how to sit with myself in honesty—without shame, without rushing the process, and without pretending to be okay when I wasn’t.
What I discovered in that season is something I now carry into every space I serve:
Expression is healing. Story is medicine. Voice is restoration.
As I walked through treatment, recovery, and reflection, I began to understand my own life’s calling on a deeper level. I was not just surviving an experience—I was being shaped by it. I was being prepared to help others navigate their own pain, identity shifts, and transformations.
This journey strengthened my commitment to working with women and youth who are searching for their voice, their confidence, and their sense of self. It deepened my belief that no story is wasted, and no experience is beyond redemption.
Today, as a Theatre Educator, Life Coach, and Drama Therapist, I do not speak from theory alone. I speak from lived experience. I understand what it means to lose your sense of control, and I also understand what it means to rebuild it—one story, one truth, one step at a time.
My healing journey did not end when cancer was faced; it continues every day in how I live, how I serve, and how I help others reclaim their own voice.
And if there is one truth I carry forward, it is this:
Even in your most painful chapter, your story is still being written—and it still holds power.

In this space, silence is gently replaced with expression. Over time, individuals begin to recognize: my voice matters, and it deserves to be heard.

Drama therapy allows participants to step outside of their lived experience and view their story from new perspectives. By embodying different roles—observer, narrator, or even symbolic characters—they begin to reframe how they understand their past.

This process does not erase the past. Instead, it transforms it into something that reflects survival, learning, and possibility. The story shifts from something that happened to them into something they are actively shaping.

True empowerment happens when insight becomes action. Drama therapy bridges this gap by allowing participants to practice new ways of being in real time through role-play, improvisation, and group interaction.
